Surveys and Privacy

I have noticed that a number of surveys ask for your date of birth as one of the early questions. That request is actually a breach of privacy laws as surveys do not need to know that information. Asking your age or in some instances your month of birth might be necessary to help classify the results but exactly which day you were born on would be irrelevant. The only reason they would need to know that information is to help people steal your identity. On the rare occasion that I decide to proceed with a survey that requests my date of birth I will always give a completely wrong answer to that question.
